It started with a single pendant
Lumiro began, as many good things do, with a frustration. Our founder spent months searching for one light for a dining room in Melbourne — a piece with the presence of a design-house original, the kind that changes how a room feels the moment it's switched on.
What he found was a gap. The truly beautiful pieces were hidden behind showroom appointments, eye-watering markups and waiting lists measured in months. Everything else looked exactly like what it was: an afterthought.
So in 2026 we founded Lumiro with a simple conviction — that exceptional lighting shouldn't be a privilege of the few. It should be chosen with an editor's eye, described honestly, delivered beautifully, and supported by people who genuinely care how your room turns out.
Light is the most important material in a room
Stone, timber, linen and brass only come alive when they're lit well. The right light flatters faces, deepens colour and turns a house into somewhere you want to linger long after dark.
That's why we think about lighting the way a designer does — in layers, in proportions and in the warmth of the glow — rather than as a fitting to tick off a list. Every collection we release is built around that idea.
