Walnut, brass and glowing glass come together in a sconce with a vintage pull chain, a small daily ritual of switching on the light.
We selected this sconce for the warmth of its materials. The walnut and gold body brings a crafted, furniture-like quality to the wall, while the glass shade, in orange or white, emits a warm, glowing light. The pull chain adds a tactile, vintage gesture alongside standard wall-switch control. It sits well in living rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and comes in eight model variations, from A1 through D2, to suit the setting.
An Edison-style filament globe in the E27 socket shows through the glass and enhances the vintage character; an LED filament globe gives the same look with lower running costs. Choose warm white around 2700K to match the orange or white glass. The IP20 rating means dry indoor areas only. The fitting is hardwired and must be installed by a licensed electrician, after which it can be run from a common wall switch and the pull chain.

Hardwired fixtures must be installed by a licensed electrician. Dust with a soft, dry cloth; avoid chemical cleaners on metal finishes and fabric shades.
Assessed by the Lumiro lighting studio for its materials, its craftsmanship and the quality of its light.
Walnut wood and gold-finished metal give this sconce the crafted warmth of fine joinery, set off by an orange or white glass shade.
A pull chain on the fitting lets you switch the light by hand, alongside control from a standard wall switch.
The E27 socket suits Edison or LED filament globes, whose warm glow shows beautifully through the glass shade.
Metal, glass and fabric chosen for how they age and how they catch the light — never flimsy, never plasticky.
Thoughtful designs spread light gently and evenly instead of throwing glare — kinder to eyes, faces and surroundings.
Warm colour temperatures bring out the true tones of skin, timber, stone and greenery — the difference you notice every evening.
Whatever you are lighting — a dining table, a hallway, a front entry or a garden path — a few simple proportions make the difference between a light that feels considered and one that feels lost. Use these as a starting point, and always check the dimensions in the product details.
| Light | Size & position | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pendants over a table or island | About ½–⅔ the table width; 75–85 cm above the surface | Over an island, allow roughly 60–75 cm between pendants |
| Chandeliers & ceiling lights | At least 210 cm clear above walkways | Over a dining table, choose around 30 cm narrower than the table |
| Interior wall sconces | Centre roughly 150–170 cm from the floor | Space 2–3 m apart along a hallway or wall |
| Bathroom & vanity lights | Either side of the mirror at eye level, or 190–200 cm above the floor | Choose IP44 or higher near water |
| Outdoor wall & entry lights | Fixture about ¼–⅓ the height of the door | Mount just above eye level; IP44+ for exposed walls |
| Path, garden & post lights | Space roughly 1.8–2.5 m apart | Stagger either side of a path for a softer, natural look |
| Floor & table lamps | Bottom of the shade near eye level when seated | Place slightly behind the shoulder for reading |
