A column of natural alabaster on a marble plinth: when lit, the stone glows from within and every vein comes alive.
We chose this lamp for the rare quality of alabaster light. The stone body is translucent, so the integrated warm LED illuminates it from inside, revealing natural veining unique to each piece, while a marble base adds weight and polish. Three heights are offered at 16 cm in diameter: 60 cm for a console or bedside, and 96 or 126 cm as a floor-standing sculpture in a living room, bedroom or office.
Alabaster diffuses light softly and evenly, so this lamp is best used as ambient and accent light rather than for reading. The warm integrated LED brings out the honeyed tones in the stone. Wattage scales with height, from around 10W at 60 cm to around 20W at 126 cm; the taller pieces make a strong glowing vertical in a corner or beside a doorway. The integrated LED means there is no bulb to replace. Select the AU plug.

Metal, glass and fabric chosen for how they age and how they catch the light — never flimsy, never plasticky.
Thoughtful designs spread light gently and evenly instead of throwing glare — kinder to eyes, faces and surroundings.
Warm colour temperatures bring out the true tones of skin, timber, stone and greenery — the difference you notice every evening.
Whatever you are lighting — a dining table, a hallway, a front entry or a garden path — a few simple proportions make the difference between a light that feels considered and one that feels lost. Use these as a starting point, and always check the dimensions in the product details.
| Light | Size & position | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pendants over a table or island | About ½–⅔ the table width; 75–85 cm above the surface | Over an island, allow roughly 60–75 cm between pendants |
| Chandeliers & ceiling lights | At least 210 cm clear above walkways | Over a dining table, choose around 30 cm narrower than the table |
| Interior wall sconces | Centre roughly 150–170 cm from the floor | Space 2–3 m apart along a hallway or wall |
| Bathroom & vanity lights | Either side of the mirror at eye level, or 190–200 cm above the floor | Choose IP44 or higher near water |
| Outdoor wall & entry lights | Fixture about ¼–⅓ the height of the door | Mount just above eye level; IP44+ for exposed walls |
| Path, garden & post lights | Space roughly 1.8–2.5 m apart | Stagger either side of a path for a softer, natural look |
| Floor & table lamps | Bottom of the shade near eye level when seated | Place slightly behind the shoulder for reading |
