A cylinder of veined alabaster rising from a fluted copper column: a vertical totem of stone and metal that glows a full 360 degrees.
We chose this sconce for its material richness. The hand-finished alabaster cylinder is translucent, so light passes through the stone and reveals its natural patterning in a soft, all-round glow, while the fluted copper base adds texture and architectural contrast. At 38 cm tall it reads as a vertical totem, lifting the eye and the apparent height of a wall. It belongs in master suites, formal entries and lounges where materials make the statement.
Because the alabaster is translucent, a warm-white LED globe around 2700K brings out the honey veining best and gives the gentlest glow; a globe is included. The 360° light makes it an ambient piece rather than a task light, ideal flanking a bed or an entry console. Mount around eye level so the stone reads lit from within. Any fixed wiring must be installed by a licensed electrician.

Metal, glass and fabric chosen for how they age and how they catch the light — never flimsy, never plasticky.
Thoughtful designs spread light gently and evenly instead of throwing glare — kinder to eyes, faces and surroundings.
Warm colour temperatures bring out the true tones of skin, timber, stone and greenery — the difference you notice every evening.
Whatever you are lighting — a dining table, a hallway, a front entry or a garden path — a few simple proportions make the difference between a light that feels considered and one that feels lost. Use these as a starting point, and always check the dimensions in the product details.
| Light | Size & position | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pendants over a table or island | About ½–⅔ the table width; 75–85 cm above the surface | Over an island, allow roughly 60–75 cm between pendants |
| Chandeliers & ceiling lights | At least 210 cm clear above walkways | Over a dining table, choose around 30 cm narrower than the table |
| Interior wall sconces | Centre roughly 150–170 cm from the floor | Space 2–3 m apart along a hallway or wall |
| Bathroom & vanity lights | Either side of the mirror at eye level, or 190–200 cm above the floor | Choose IP44 or higher near water |
| Outdoor wall & entry lights | Fixture about ¼–⅓ the height of the door | Mount just above eye level; IP44+ for exposed walls |
| Path, garden & post lights | Space roughly 1.8–2.5 m apart | Stagger either side of a path for a softer, natural look |
| Floor & table lamps | Bottom of the shade near eye level when seated | Place slightly behind the shoulder for reading |
