A curved bracket of beech wood carries a linen shade out over the chair, grounded by cast iron: mid-century craft at its most graceful.
We chose this lamp for the beauty of its timber. A beech wood bracket is shaped into elegant curves and anchored by a heavy cast iron base for stability, while the linen shade softens the light into a warm, even glow. Shades come in white, beige or coffee, so the lamp can sit lightly in a Scandinavian room or add depth to a farmhouse or mid-century interior. It reaches 72 cm across and stands 150 cm tall.
The linen shade diffuses light evenly, which makes this an excellent reading lamp when the bracket is set to reach over the shoulder. Use an E27 bulb of no more than 40W; a warm-white LED (2700K–3000K) suits the beech and linen beautifully and keeps the shade cool. White linen gives the brightest spread, while coffee casts a moodier pool of light. The in-line switch sits on the cord for easy reach. Indoor use only; select the AU plug.

Metal, glass and fabric chosen for how they age and how they catch the light — never flimsy, never plasticky.
Thoughtful designs spread light gently and evenly instead of throwing glare — kinder to eyes, faces and surroundings.
Warm colour temperatures bring out the true tones of skin, timber, stone and greenery — the difference you notice every evening.
Whatever you are lighting — a dining table, a hallway, a front entry or a garden path — a few simple proportions make the difference between a light that feels considered and one that feels lost. Use these as a starting point, and always check the dimensions in the product details.
| Light | Size & position | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pendants over a table or island | About ½–⅔ the table width; 75–85 cm above the surface | Over an island, allow roughly 60–75 cm between pendants |
| Chandeliers & ceiling lights | At least 210 cm clear above walkways | Over a dining table, choose around 30 cm narrower than the table |
| Interior wall sconces | Centre roughly 150–170 cm from the floor | Space 2–3 m apart along a hallway or wall |
| Bathroom & vanity lights | Either side of the mirror at eye level, or 190–200 cm above the floor | Choose IP44 or higher near water |
| Outdoor wall & entry lights | Fixture about ¼–⅓ the height of the door | Mount just above eye level; IP44+ for exposed walls |
| Path, garden & post lights | Space roughly 1.8–2.5 m apart | Stagger either side of a path for a softer, natural look |
| Floor & table lamps | Bottom of the shade near eye level when seated | Place slightly behind the shoulder for reading |
