A flexible gooseneck that bends to put a narrow, flicker-free beam exactly on the page, with a toggle switch right on the backplate.
We chose this light for its precision as a reading lamp. The 35 cm gooseneck, in aluminium and silicone-coated steel, bends and twists to any angle, and its narrow beam lands on the book without spilling across the room, so a partner can sleep undisturbed. A tactile toggle switch on the slim backplate keeps control at hand. Finishes include black, brushed bronze and sand nickel, with warm, neutral or cool light.
The flicker-free LED reduces eye strain during long reading sessions. Warm light (3000K) is our recommendation for bedside reading in the evening; neutral (4000K) or cool (6000K) suit desks and workspaces. The beam covers roughly 1 to 3 m² of directional task light. Mount the backplate about 30 to 40 cm above the mattress or desk surface. As a hardwired fitting it must be installed by a licensed electrician.

Metal, glass and fabric chosen for how they age and how they catch the light — never flimsy, never plasticky.
Thoughtful designs spread light gently and evenly instead of throwing glare — kinder to eyes, faces and surroundings.
Warm colour temperatures bring out the true tones of skin, timber, stone and greenery — the difference you notice every evening.
Whatever you are lighting — a dining table, a hallway, a front entry or a garden path — a few simple proportions make the difference between a light that feels considered and one that feels lost. Use these as a starting point, and always check the dimensions in the product details.
| Light | Size & position | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pendants over a table or island | About ½–⅔ the table width; 75–85 cm above the surface | Over an island, allow roughly 60–75 cm between pendants |
| Chandeliers & ceiling lights | At least 210 cm clear above walkways | Over a dining table, choose around 30 cm narrower than the table |
| Interior wall sconces | Centre roughly 150–170 cm from the floor | Space 2–3 m apart along a hallway or wall |
| Bathroom & vanity lights | Either side of the mirror at eye level, or 190–200 cm above the floor | Choose IP44 or higher near water |
| Outdoor wall & entry lights | Fixture about ¼–⅓ the height of the door | Mount just above eye level; IP44+ for exposed walls |
| Path, garden & post lights | Space roughly 1.8–2.5 m apart | Stagger either side of a path for a softer, natural look |
| Floor & table lamps | Bottom of the shade near eye level when seated | Place slightly behind the shoulder for reading |
