A slender black bar with gold detailing and a soft white glow: hotel-style vanity light, distilled to its essentials.
We chose this vanity light for its understated sophistication. An electroplated black finish with gold accents gives the bathroom a polished, contemporary edge, while a quality acrylic shade turns the built-in LED into soft, glare-free light for daily grooming and skincare. It is as at home above a guest vanity as in a hotel-inspired ensuite, in 60 cm and 100 cm lengths with white or warm white light.
With 6W at 60 cm and 10W at 100 cm, this light gives a gentle, ambient glow at the mirror; for bright task lighting in a larger bathroom, pair it with ceiling downlights. Warm white suits relaxed evenings and guest bathrooms, while white gives a cleaner light for grooming. Centre it just above the mirror, choosing the length closest to the mirror width. It is hardwired and must be installed by a licensed electrician, who can confirm placement relative to bathroom wet zones.

Metal, glass and fabric chosen for how they age and how they catch the light — never flimsy, never plasticky.
Thoughtful designs spread light gently and evenly instead of throwing glare — kinder to eyes, faces and surroundings.
Warm colour temperatures bring out the true tones of skin, timber, stone and greenery — the difference you notice every evening.
Whatever you are lighting — a dining table, a hallway, a front entry or a garden path — a few simple proportions make the difference between a light that feels considered and one that feels lost. Use these as a starting point, and always check the dimensions in the product details.
| Light | Size & position | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pendants over a table or island | About ½–⅔ the table width; 75–85 cm above the surface | Over an island, allow roughly 60–75 cm between pendants |
| Chandeliers & ceiling lights | At least 210 cm clear above walkways | Over a dining table, choose around 30 cm narrower than the table |
| Interior wall sconces | Centre roughly 150–170 cm from the floor | Space 2–3 m apart along a hallway or wall |
| Bathroom & vanity lights | Either side of the mirror at eye level, or 190–200 cm above the floor | Choose IP44 or higher near water |
| Outdoor wall & entry lights | Fixture about ¼–⅓ the height of the door | Mount just above eye level; IP44+ for exposed walls |
| Path, garden & post lights | Space roughly 1.8–2.5 m apart | Stagger either side of a path for a softer, natural look |
| Floor & table lamps | Bottom of the shade near eye level when seated | Place slightly behind the shoulder for reading |
