An industrial reach arm with timber accents and a pleated dome shade: a lamp that leans in over a reading chair.
We chose this lamp because it marries workshop character with soft comfort. The adjustable arm extends to about 80 cm and the height ranges from 135 to 180 cm, so the beige pleated shade can be positioned directly over a sofa or armchair. The fabric dome gently diffuses the light into a warm, inviting pool, ideal for reading or unwinding. It is offered in walnut or black with a beige shade.
Set the shade just above and slightly behind a seated reader's head so the light falls onto the page without glare. A warm-white E26 or E27 globe suits relaxed reading; keep to the 40W maximum (a globe is included). The 80 cm reach makes it well suited to sitting behind or beside an armchair. Choose the AU plug option for Australian outlets.

Assessed by the Lumiro lighting studio for its materials, its craftsmanship and the quality of its light.
An adjustable industrial arm with an 80 cm reach places the pleated shade directly over a sofa or armchair.
Height adjusts across a 45 cm range so the light suits a low lounge chair or a taller wingback.
Metal and timber accents pair with a beige pleated dome shade that softens the included E27 globe into a warm pool.
Metal, glass and fabric chosen for how they age and how they catch the light — never flimsy, never plasticky.
Thoughtful designs spread light gently and evenly instead of throwing glare — kinder to eyes, faces and surroundings.
Warm colour temperatures bring out the true tones of skin, timber, stone and greenery — the difference you notice every evening.
Whatever you are lighting — a dining table, a hallway, a front entry or a garden path — a few simple proportions make the difference between a light that feels considered and one that feels lost. Use these as a starting point, and always check the dimensions in the product details.
| Light | Size & position | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pendants over a table or island | About ½–⅔ the table width; 75–85 cm above the surface | Over an island, allow roughly 60–75 cm between pendants |
| Chandeliers & ceiling lights | At least 210 cm clear above walkways | Over a dining table, choose around 30 cm narrower than the table |
| Interior wall sconces | Centre roughly 150–170 cm from the floor | Space 2–3 m apart along a hallway or wall |
| Bathroom & vanity lights | Either side of the mirror at eye level, or 190–200 cm above the floor | Choose IP44 or higher near water |
| Outdoor wall & entry lights | Fixture about ¼–⅓ the height of the door | Mount just above eye level; IP44+ for exposed walls |
| Path, garden & post lights | Space roughly 1.8–2.5 m apart | Stagger either side of a path for a softer, natural look |
| Floor & table lamps | Bottom of the shade near eye level when seated | Place slightly behind the shoulder for reading |
