The bulkhead light of harbours and ships' decks, reworked in aluminium for the modern home's patios, gardens and entries.
We chose this outdoor sconce for its maritime character and its range. The bulkhead form has a reassuring solidity that suits coastal, industrial and contemporary exteriors alike, and with ten model shapes it is possible to mix forms across a facade while keeping a consistent language. The aluminium body is designed for exterior walls and covered outdoor areas, and comes in black or silver.
The fitting is described as water-resistant rather than carrying a stated IP rating, so we recommend it for covered or semi-protected walls such as porches, verandahs and eaves; avoid locations exposed to direct water jets. Mount entry lights at about head height either side of a door for even, welcoming light. Choose warm-white LED for a softer exterior tone. This is a hardwired fitting and must be installed by a licensed electrician.

A sturdy aluminium body and water-resistant design suit exposed and covered outdoor areas, finished in black or silver.
Metal, glass and fabric chosen for how they age and how they catch the light — never flimsy, never plasticky.
Thoughtful designs spread light gently and evenly instead of throwing glare — kinder to eyes, faces and surroundings.
Warm colour temperatures bring out the true tones of skin, timber, stone and greenery — the difference you notice every evening.
Whatever you are lighting — a dining table, a hallway, a front entry or a garden path — a few simple proportions make the difference between a light that feels considered and one that feels lost. Use these as a starting point, and always check the dimensions in the product details.
| Light | Size & position | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pendants over a table or island | About ½–⅔ the table width; 75–85 cm above the surface | Over an island, allow roughly 60–75 cm between pendants |
| Chandeliers & ceiling lights | At least 210 cm clear above walkways | Over a dining table, choose around 30 cm narrower than the table |
| Interior wall sconces | Centre roughly 150–170 cm from the floor | Space 2–3 m apart along a hallway or wall |
| Bathroom & vanity lights | Either side of the mirror at eye level, or 190–200 cm above the floor | Choose IP44 or higher near water |
| Outdoor wall & entry lights | Fixture about ¼–⅓ the height of the door | Mount just above eye level; IP44+ for exposed walls |
| Path, garden & post lights | Space roughly 1.8–2.5 m apart | Stagger either side of a path for a softer, natural look |
| Floor & table lamps | Bottom of the shade near eye level when seated | Place slightly behind the shoulder for reading |
