Warm timber below, a soft fabric shade above: a retro floor lamp that gives a room a gentle, enveloping glow at the tap of a foot.
We chose this lamp for its quiet, mid-century character. The turned timber base brings natural warmth, while the 40 cm fabric shade softens the light into an even, flattering glow that suits living rooms, bedrooms and studies. At 150 cm tall it lights a sofa end or reading chair comfortably, and the foot switch keeps operation effortless. It is offered in walnut with a white shade or black with a white shade, with AU, US, UK and EU plug options.
The fabric shade diffuses light both downward and through its sides, making this an ambient lamp best suited to relaxed evening use. Observe the 15W maximum for the E14 fitting; a warm-white LED globe (around 2700–3000K) will keep the light soft and is well within that limit. Choose the AU plug option for Australian outlets.

A turned walnut-tone timber base and white fabric shade bring a soft retro character to living rooms, bedrooms and studies.
A floor-level foot switch turns the 150 cm lamp on and off without reaching for a cord or fumbling under the shade.
The 40 cm fabric shade spreads an E14 globe of up to 15W into an even, flattering light for relaxed evenings.
Metal, glass and fabric chosen for how they age and how they catch the light — never flimsy, never plasticky.
Thoughtful designs spread light gently and evenly instead of throwing glare — kinder to eyes, faces and surroundings.
Warm colour temperatures bring out the true tones of skin, timber, stone and greenery — the difference you notice every evening.
Whatever you are lighting — a dining table, a hallway, a front entry or a garden path — a few simple proportions make the difference between a light that feels considered and one that feels lost. Use these as a starting point, and always check the dimensions in the product details.
| Light | Size & position | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pendants over a table or island | About ½–⅔ the table width; 75–85 cm above the surface | Over an island, allow roughly 60–75 cm between pendants |
| Chandeliers & ceiling lights | At least 210 cm clear above walkways | Over a dining table, choose around 30 cm narrower than the table |
| Interior wall sconces | Centre roughly 150–170 cm from the floor | Space 2–3 m apart along a hallway or wall |
| Bathroom & vanity lights | Either side of the mirror at eye level, or 190–200 cm above the floor | Choose IP44 or higher near water |
| Outdoor wall & entry lights | Fixture about ¼–⅓ the height of the door | Mount just above eye level; IP44+ for exposed walls |
| Path, garden & post lights | Space roughly 1.8–2.5 m apart | Stagger either side of a path for a softer, natural look |
| Floor & table lamps | Bottom of the shade near eye level when seated | Place slightly behind the shoulder for reading |
