Travertine shaped with postmodern confidence, a sculptural lamp that brings the warmth of natural stone to the room.
We chose this lamp for its artful use of travertine, a natural stone prized for its warm tone and characterful texture. Its postmodern, designer-inspired form reads as sculpture on a sideboard or bedside, while the light it casts is warm and inviting. At 39.9 cm across and 35.1 cm tall, it is broad and grounded rather than tall, giving it real presence on living room consoles and generous nightstands.
Travertine carries warm beige and honey tones, so a warm-white light source (2700K–3000K) is the natural partner, deepening the stone's colour in the evening. With its broad, low proportions, this lamp works best as ambient and accent lighting at the bedside or on a console rather than as a reading lamp. As a natural stone, colour and texture vary between pieces.

A postmodern form in characterful travertine reads as a piece of sculpture on a console, sideboard or nightstand.
The honeyed tones of travertine glow beautifully under warm light, deepening in colour as evening falls.
At 39.9 cm wide and 35.1 cm tall, its low, generous proportions give it real presence without towering over the room.
Metal, glass and fabric chosen for how they age and how they catch the light — never flimsy, never plasticky.
Thoughtful designs spread light gently and evenly instead of throwing glare — kinder to eyes, faces and surroundings.
Warm colour temperatures bring out the true tones of skin, timber, stone and greenery — the difference you notice every evening.
Whatever you are lighting — a dining table, a hallway, a front entry or a garden path — a few simple proportions make the difference between a light that feels considered and one that feels lost. Use these as a starting point, and always check the dimensions in the product details.
| Light | Size & position | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pendants over a table or island | About ½–⅔ the table width; 75–85 cm above the surface | Over an island, allow roughly 60–75 cm between pendants |
| Chandeliers & ceiling lights | At least 210 cm clear above walkways | Over a dining table, choose around 30 cm narrower than the table |
| Interior wall sconces | Centre roughly 150–170 cm from the floor | Space 2–3 m apart along a hallway or wall |
| Bathroom & vanity lights | Either side of the mirror at eye level, or 190–200 cm above the floor | Choose IP44 or higher near water |
| Outdoor wall & entry lights | Fixture about ¼–⅓ the height of the door | Mount just above eye level; IP44+ for exposed walls |
| Path, garden & post lights | Space roughly 1.8–2.5 m apart | Stagger either side of a path for a softer, natural look |
| Floor & table lamps | Bottom of the shade near eye level when seated | Place slightly behind the shoulder for reading |
