Diamond-patterned glass that refracts light into a sparkling lattice, on a classic aluminium post lantern powered entirely by the sun.
We chose this lantern for the way its diamond-patterned glass catches and scatters light, giving pathways and garden posts a jewelled glow. A durable aluminium body in black, bronze or copper houses an integrated LED and solar panel: 4 to 6 hours of sunlight gives around 8 to 10 hours of light, switching on automatically at dusk and off at dawn, with a remote for manual control. Three sizes, from 30 x 30 x 35 cm to 50 x 50 x 55 cm, suit posts of different scales.
The lantern is supplied in warm light (3000K), the most inviting tone for paths and entries and the one that makes the diamond glass sparkle most warmly; neutral (4000K) and cool (6000K) are also listed. IP65 means it is dust-tight and protected against water jets. Being fully solar on a DC 3.2V storage system, it needs no wiring, but it does need good direct sun through the day for a full charge.

Metal, glass and fabric chosen for how they age and how they catch the light — never flimsy, never plasticky.
Thoughtful designs spread light gently and evenly instead of throwing glare — kinder to eyes, faces and surroundings.
Warm colour temperatures bring out the true tones of skin, timber, stone and greenery — the difference you notice every evening.
Whatever you are lighting — a dining table, a hallway, a front entry or a garden path — a few simple proportions make the difference between a light that feels considered and one that feels lost. Use these as a starting point, and always check the dimensions in the product details.
| Light | Size & position | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pendants over a table or island | About ½–⅔ the table width; 75–85 cm above the surface | Over an island, allow roughly 60–75 cm between pendants |
| Chandeliers & ceiling lights | At least 210 cm clear above walkways | Over a dining table, choose around 30 cm narrower than the table |
| Interior wall sconces | Centre roughly 150–170 cm from the floor | Space 2–3 m apart along a hallway or wall |
| Bathroom & vanity lights | Either side of the mirror at eye level, or 190–200 cm above the floor | Choose IP44 or higher near water |
| Outdoor wall & entry lights | Fixture about ¼–⅓ the height of the door | Mount just above eye level; IP44+ for exposed walls |
| Path, garden & post lights | Space roughly 1.8–2.5 m apart | Stagger either side of a path for a softer, natural look |
| Floor & table lamps | Bottom of the shade near eye level when seated | Place slightly behind the shoulder for reading |
