Carved octagonal glass in a black or antique bronze frame: a traditional European lantern that charges by day and glows by night.
We chose this lantern for its classic profile and cable-free convenience. The carved octagonal glass gives a jewelled sparkle, held in a durable aluminium frame in black or antique bronze. A built-in 5W LED delivers 500 lumens, and the remote switches between warm, neutral and white light. Two sizes, 18 x 35 cm and 23 x 43 cm, suit garden pillars, gates and villa entrances.
With 500 lumens from a 5W integrated LED, this is a bright solar lantern, enough to mark a gate or entrance clearly. Use the remote to choose warm light for a welcoming residential glow, neutral for balance or white for crisp security light. IP65 means it is dust-tight and protected against water jets, so fully exposed pillars are fine, but it needs good direct sun through the day to perform well. It runs on a 12V solar system, so no mains wiring is required.

Metal, glass and fabric chosen for how they age and how they catch the light — never flimsy, never plasticky.
Thoughtful designs spread light gently and evenly instead of throwing glare — kinder to eyes, faces and surroundings.
Warm colour temperatures bring out the true tones of skin, timber, stone and greenery — the difference you notice every evening.
Whatever you are lighting — a dining table, a hallway, a front entry or a garden path — a few simple proportions make the difference between a light that feels considered and one that feels lost. Use these as a starting point, and always check the dimensions in the product details.
| Light | Size & position | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pendants over a table or island | About ½–⅔ the table width; 75–85 cm above the surface | Over an island, allow roughly 60–75 cm between pendants |
| Chandeliers & ceiling lights | At least 210 cm clear above walkways | Over a dining table, choose around 30 cm narrower than the table |
| Interior wall sconces | Centre roughly 150–170 cm from the floor | Space 2–3 m apart along a hallway or wall |
| Bathroom & vanity lights | Either side of the mirror at eye level, or 190–200 cm above the floor | Choose IP44 or higher near water |
| Outdoor wall & entry lights | Fixture about ¼–⅓ the height of the door | Mount just above eye level; IP44+ for exposed walls |
| Path, garden & post lights | Space roughly 1.8–2.5 m apart | Stagger either side of a path for a softer, natural look |
| Floor & table lamps | Bottom of the shade near eye level when seated | Place slightly behind the shoulder for reading |
